Village of Wellington
The 11th Annual Community Fitness Run & Walk to benefit Hospice of Palm Beach County was held recently in Wellington. Approximately 600 runners and walkers from Palm Beach County and across South Florida participated in this USATF certified 5K event and raised more than $37,000 for Hospice of Palm Beach County patient care programs.

Participants enjoyed entertainment following the race including music by DJ Kenny Mondo Productions and demonstrations by Ultima Fitness/Xtreme Tae Kwon Do students and instructors. At an earlier event, 40 Xtreme Tae Kwon Do students ranging in ages from 3 ½ thru 40 years raised over $2,000 for Hospice of Palm Beach County at their annual Kick-a-thon.
The event Chairperson was Tensy Caine. Committee members included: Jill Merrell, Joanna Boynton, Ben Boynton, Michelle Garvey, Emilia Roca, Marlene De Luca Painter, Bruce Delaney, Cathy Crupi, Chuck Higgins, Cyndi Higgins, Ida Robins, Jo Thompson, Paul Funk, and Tania Madorma. Honorary Chairpersons are State Senator Jeff Atwater, State Senator Dave Aronberg, State Representative Shelley Vana, County Commissioner Jess Santamaria, and Mayor Tom Wenham.
The 11th Annual Community Fitness Run & Walk was hosted by National City, Ultima Fitness/Xtreme Tae Kwon Do and the Village of Wellington. Media sponsors included The Palm Beach Post, WRMF and Comcast.
